Hi fellas,
As promised before, I am going to share with you all, the self-care strategy that helped me get over the gruesome parental blues that had been haunting me last week. My rejuvenation plan consists of easy-to-implement, inexpensive ideas that any stay-at-home mom can incorporate into their routine right away.
Check it out..
-
-
- Keep your rooms and kitchen ventilated and well-lit. Let in as much sunlight as possible.
- Stay hydrated. Drink water before you feel thirsty.
- Listen to your favorite songs while doing the kitchen chores.
- Soak your feet in a tub of warm water for 5-10 minutes. If not daily, do it at least thrice a week. This can uplift your mood instantly.
- Scrub your face before you hit the bed.
-
- Ensure the kitchen sink is empty and clean at night.
- Practice deep breathing techniques.
- Invest in potpourris.
- De-clutter the wardrobe, kid’s room and living room as often as you can.
- Practice mindfulness.
- Dance and sing like no one is watching you.
- Do not compare your life with others.
- Read good stuff. If not books, at least stick to magazines or blogs.
- Unfollow people whose updates do not influence you in a positive manner.
- Play with your child’s toys.
- Do not hesitate to say ‘No’.
-
-
- Be kind to yourself.
- Oil-massage your scalp whenever you find time.
- Make peace with your partner. Always.
- Try a new hobby.
- Talk to people who genuinely care for your well-being.
- Focus on your posture.
- If you spend too much time online, do not get carried away by the dramatic lives of people. Instead, focus on information that really matters to you.
- Cut down an unnecessary expense every month and save the sum for a bigger cause.
- Compete with your best version in the past and become an even better person in the future.
- Chant slogans or mantras when you undertake an arduous or monotonous task.
- Find reasons to go on a walk.
- Observe the little things around you.
- Count your blessings.
- Write down your weekly goals.
- Last but not the least.. Be grateful for what you have. Now matter how inadequate it seems, remember, it is someone else’s infeasible fairy tale”.
My list ends here. Feel free to share yours in the Comments section below.
