The rules

Thank the person who nominates you

Post one quote per day for 3 consecutive days

Nominate three new bloggers each day

“Happiness isn’t good enough for me! I demand euphoria!”

                – Calvin

This is from the most-enjoyed comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, by Bill Watterson.

I’m an ardent fan of Calvin’s prodigious intellect and exuberant nature.  The above quote is enriched with hope and optimism, mildly masked with a dose of usual Calvin’s humor. The words do not seem serious like those boring motivational quotes people sincerely stick to their walls. This is light enough to read, funny enough to enjoy and sturdy enough to stay in our minds for a lifetime.

The six-year-old’s sensible words gently remind us to settle for nothing but the best, in every phase of life. People, Money and Time influence us too much that we often find it right and enough to enjoy the droplets of happiness that our monotonous life offers once in a while. We shamelessly dream big but how many of us wake up, get rid of the negativity that holds us tight and run towards making the dream a reality?

I insist you to go beyond those unsettling dreams of buying a bigger house, starting a new business, visiting Paris, etc., and make them happen.

On a lighter note, the key to euphoria is to go easy on your own wallet and deplete your partner’s first. Well, That’s my whole point! 😛

  1. Loved Calvin and Hobbes. every year when they came out with a new book I would always buy my husband the book for Christmas. Great quote you picked and thank you for nominating me. Also had a chance to visit Lily’s cafe and I loved it. I started to read one of her fairy tales…really good. I will have to go back to read the other parts later. I have to know what happened to that princess at the black castle.

    1. Glad to know we have a similar taste for comic books. It is indeed joyful when I find like-minded writers like you respond to my posts. Thank you 🙂 And, I’m happy you visited and enjoyed The Lily Cafe.

  2. Oh, Calvin! I didn’t read comics growing up, except for Calvin and Hobbes! He always said some of the weirdest and most amazing things. Though kids are smart and maybe we should listen to them more often. Unless they’re screaming. Then I’d like earplugs. I’m so honored you read my blog so often! I often wonder if I’m interesting enough, so thank you so much! I also devour your posts and I love your book reviews. Fun story: the kids and I were at the library and I saw someone had put aside Hooray for Fish. I automatically thought of your post and thought “darn someone beat me to that book!” I hope you catch your big dreams!
